  All of our products are available for download on a 15-day or limited-use trial basis.  Each product is packaged as a separate .exe.  To download click on the product file you want and when asked by your browser, save the file to your hard drive.  

The documentation is in Adobe Acrobat format and is part of the product download. If you want to view the documentation before downloading, it can be found on our Resources  page.

 

The software for the full version is the same as the trial version.  The license key that is issued when the product is purchased unlocks any restricted features.

There are both advantages and disadvantages to installing and using an Exporter SQL instance. 

Advantages:

Access to more data -- including activities, group relationships, secondary contacts etc.

Does not require that ACT! is installed on the system.

 

 Disadvantages:

The download is 100 MB.

Installing SQL can be complex.

Will only work on a copy of the database.

Can not run in automatic mode.

ACT! 9.0.1 Update Fix
If you are using ACT! 9.01, you will need to apply the  fix in the KB article #20495

 

ACT! OleDB Provider For Reporting ERROR: "Cannot CoCreateInstance (CLSID_IOleDBSecurityImp)"

 

Unfortunately, the patch file 9.01fix.cmd has a typo and will not work properly as is.  We have made the correction. You can download the corrected version below.

Be aware that the 901fix.cmd patch assumes that you have installed ACT! in the c:\program files\act\act for windows folder.  If you have installed elsewhere, you will need to open the 901fix.cmd file with Notepad and make the appropriate modifications.

 
Using MSDE or SQL Express with Exporter
 

 

The steps to use the Exporter with SQL are simple.

Depending on your version of ACT!, the installer will install an Exporter instance SQL Express or MSDE and Exporter for ACT! 7-9.

From ACT!, make a copy of your ACT! database.
File>Save Copy As...  The copy must be saved to your local drive.  Do not use the desktop or the my documents folder for the copy of your database.  It must be in a folder that allows access from all users of the system.

Run Exporter

  1. In the Server drop down box, select machinename\EXPORTER_SE or machinename\EXPORTER_MSDE.

  2. In the ACT! Database to Export box, select the .adf file that was created when you made the copy of your database

 

 

Evaluation Copies

After the download process is complete, double click on the .exe file and the installation process will begin.  You will be asked to provide an activation key.  If you are evaluating the product, simply enter 12345678.  If you have licensed the product, enter the Serial Number license key you were given when you purchased the product.  There is no difference between the evaluation software and the licensed software.  The license key unlocks the restrictions.

When you're ready to purchase, you can return to our site and place your order online.  You will receive a license via e-mail within 15 minutes.  Or, you can call us at 805 481 4133 and we will issue a license key.
